How to choose the right rehab facility
Where you go is up to you!
Here are some things to consider when choosing the best rehabilitation facility.
Identify facilities in your area, location is important for family visitation especially if you will be at the facility for several weeks or months at a time.
2. Do your research:
Look for reviews and recommendations from physicians, friends and community members. Tour the facility unannounced, or schedule a visit. Showing up during regular business hours, nights or weekends will allow you to get a sense of the care and activities provided at all times.
Be sure to ask about routines, activities, therapies, meals/dining and special care that is needed. Discuss the type of payor source (Medicare/Medicaid), or private pay are other important factors to consider.
3. Short-term Rehab Services:
Of all the factors that contribute to picking a facility, none of them is more important than the actual rehab programs offered. Choosing a facility with a team of dedicated professionals providing physical, occupational or speech therapy can make all the difference in your recovery.
Remember the ultimate decision of where you go for your rehab services is completely up to you!
